Effective for travel beginning August 30, 2008, flights originating or connecting through Detroit, Minneapolis or Honolulu on Delta Airlines or Northwest Airlines will give customers the choice to plate their travel sole on Delta Airlines while still flying 10% on Northwest Airlines

From Detroit, Northwest Airlines offers nonstop service to Tokyo, Osaka and Nagoya; From Minneapolis to Tokyo; And from Honolulu to Tokyo or Osaka.

From Tokyo, Delta Airlines code share is also extended to Seoul, Singapore and Bangkok. From Atlanta, Northwest can be plated on Delta Airlines nonstop flight to Tokyo and beyond.

This new expanded code share will augment existing trans-pacific code share flights from Portland (OR), San Francisco and Los Angeles. Delta and Northwest are currently in merger talks and are on track to become one airline under the Delta name by the end of the year.
