No More Free Lunch For Coach Passengers Flying On United Airlines From
Washington (DC) To Europe This Fall.
No more free lunch for coach passengers flying on United Airlines from
Washington (DC) to Europe this Fall.
Business travelers will continue to receive
free meals, but in a downsized way. Not since the days of People Express did
economy passengers have to pay for meals on these long haul flights to Europe.
Starting sometime in October 2008, United Airlines plans to offer coach economy
passengers buy onboard sandwiches, snacks, salads, cocktails and wine.
Business travelers that pay thousands of dollars above the economy airfares
will also continue to receive free food, but in a very downsized way. Their meal
service will be the same as coach, but free. While United Airlines states they
will listen to their customers as they test these new options for both business
and economy passengers, we suggest they get out the battle gear earmuffs and
maybe those quiet muffing Bose head phones. We are sure that those flight
attendants will get some loud, ear full suggestions on what United Airlines can
do with this NEW MEAL OPTION.
