Airport Clubs can be very expensive. I still like the perks from American Express Platinum the best.
Not only do I get FREE admission to American Airlines, Delta, US Airways and Continentals club lounges, but I get reimbursed up to $200 a year for change fees and checked baggage fees on my preferred airline each year.
Most airlines have a daily admission to their lounges that range between $25 to $50 a day. However, if you are going to travel a lot during a 30 day period on one airline then American Airlines is your best bet with its new 30 day program.
American Airlines announced a 30-day Admirals Club Lounge membership for only $99. It offers the same benefits of an annual Admirals Club membership for a period of 30 consecutive days from the date of purchase.
“The 30-day membership provides our customers with even more options to suit their travel needs,” said Nancy Knipp, American’s Managing Director – Premium Services.
“Whether traveling for business or pleasure, guests can enjoy all the amenities our Admirals Club lounges have to offer with a membership that complements their travel schedule.”
The 30-day membership provides the key to the private surroundings and state-of-the-art amenities found in American’s more than 40 Admirals Club lounges worldwide. Benefits of Admirals Club membership include:
- Assistance with reservations
- Ability to bring up to two guests or immediate family members
- Complimentary Wi-Fi in all locations
- Complimentary coffee, tea, soft drinks and snacks
- Complimentary well drinks, house wines and beer throughout the U.S. and complimentary beverages at our international locations
- Fresh food available for purchase in all domestic U.S. locations
- Spa-like showers, cyber cafés and children's rooms in select locations
- Conference rooms available at discounted member rates
Memberships may be purchased online with a credit card at www.aa.com/admiralsclub or in any Admirals Club location. The cost per 30-day membership is the same regardless of tier level in the AAdvantage® program.
AAdvantage miles cannot be redeemed as a form of payment for the 30-day membership. Customers who purchase a 30-day membership will also receive a renewal-pricing discount of $50 on the purchase of an annual Admirals Club membership at the end of the 30-day membership.
For more frequent travelers wishing to purchase a new, annual Admirals Club membership, prices are based on the level of American AAdvantage membership and range from $350 or 50,000 AAdvantage miles for a new Executive Platinum membership to $500 or 80,000 miles for a regular membership.
One-day passes are also available and can be purchased online, at self-service check-in machines, or any Admirals Club location for $50. American is committed to reinvesting in its products and services.
For example, American recently opened a brand new Admirals Club in San Francisco; completed an expansion to its JFK C Admirals Club and last year completed extensive renovations to its Boston Admirals Club and its London Heathrow Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge.
To further enhance the customer experience, extensive renovations are currently underway at American’s LaGuardia D Admirals Club and construction will begin later this month on American’s brand-new club at LaGuardia C.
