Air Canada Becomes The First Major Airlines In North America To Drop Charges For Second Checked Bag
All U.S. airlines flying to and from the U.S.A. to
Canada charge $15 for the first checked bag and $25 for the second bag.
Delta
Airlines does not charge a fee for the first checked bag of 50lbs. or less.
However, Delta Airlines and United Airlines both charge $50 for the second bag.
In May 2008, Air Canada adopted the $25 for the second bag, blaming high fuel
costs. With the cost of fuel dropping approximately 40% saves July, Air Canada
has elected to bring back the two check bags for free policy. Only Southwest
Airlines present two bags, for free, to all passengers for travel within the
United States. so the next time your flying to Canada and plan to check one or
two bags, think Delta Airlines for your first bag for free, think Air Canada if
you have two checked bags, it will save you $80 or more in baggage fees.
